DIN SPEC 77218
Technical services for industrial process engineering plants - Structuring and categorization of industrial performance categories
What is DIN SPEC 77218? DIN SPEC 77218 fills a critical gap in industrial maintenance: the lack of a standardized structure for services. While there are clear standards in construction (e.g., VOB), the industry often experienced unchecked growth. Each company used its own service specifications, leading to enormous coordination efforts and misunderstandings.
The standard defines 15 main groups (e.g., EMSR, scaffolding, pipeline construction) and divides these into trades and performance categories. This enables a modular and precise description of activities.
Why is this standard important?
- Comparability: Offers from different service providers become objectively comparable, as all use the same structure.
- Efficiency: The maintenance effort for internal service specifications is drastically reduced.
- Digitalization: A standardized structure is the basic prerequisite for digital platforms and AI-supported evaluations. Without a standard, there is no automation.
Hahn PRO as co-author
We do not wait for standards, we set them. Hahn Projects actively co-developed DIN SPEC 77218 as part of the consortium. The advantage for ADAM users: Our software ADAM already carries the logic of this standard in its DNA. When you work with ADAM, you automatically structure your service data in compliance with the standard. This makes your data future-proof and compatible for cross-company collaboration.
